CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHOD

3.1 Research Design

In this part of this study, the advertisement were collected by searching internet. Search Advertising is a method of placing online advertisements on Web pages that show results from search engine queries. Through the same search-engine advertising services, ads can also be placed on Web pages with other published.

Search advertisements are targeted to match key search terms (called keywords) entered on search engines. This targeting ability has contributed to the attractiveness of search advertising for advertisers. Consumers will often use a search engine to identify and compare purchasing options immediately before making a purchasing decision. The opportunity to present consumers with advertisements tailored to their immediate buying interests encourages consumers to click on search ads instead of unpaid search results, which are often less relevant. Unpaid search results are also called organic results. In doing research, the researcher does not only the description about advertisement, but also explain about forming of words. Kinds of forming words can be devided of some kinds, they are compound words, blends, clipped words,coining, borrowing, multiple words,etc.

In this paper,researcher include them all. And researcher will discuss all of the kinds above.

3.2 The source of advertisements

The source of advertisements were taken from searching internet. Researcher will add some examples of advertisement as references. It consists 20 kinds of advertisements.

3.3 The Technique of Collecting Advertisements

The advertisements were collected from internet. The technique for collecting advertisements is documentary technique. Documentary technique is the way to get information related to the advertisements from textbook, newspaper, magazine, banner, and internet. For this research, the advertisements were collected by using these following steps:

1. Search some advertisements from internet.

2. Group the words in forming words.

3.4 The Technique of Analysizing Advertisements

When the advertisements were collected, they wre analyzed based on the following steps:

1. Classifying the forming words based on the types such compound words, blends, clipped words,coining, borrowing, multiple words,etc.

2. Tabulating the types of forming words which are found in the advertisements.

3. Converting the data number into percentages by using the following formula:
